BANGALORE: Bescom MD P Manivannan bagged the Namma Bengalurean of the Year award, while S Seethalakshmi, Metro Editor, The Times of India, Bangalore, won the award in the media category.
Eminent litterateur Prof G Venkatasubbaiah on Saturday gave away the awards for 2012 to 11 city achievers.
The other awardees and their categories are Fr George Kannanthanam, founder, Sumanahalli Society (Citizen); Kuldeep Dantewadia (Citizen-Youth); BG Chengappa (director, fire and emergency services) and Mahadev Rajappa Sambargi (head constable, Government Employee); Bangalore Traffic Police (Government Organization); Britannia (Corporate Social Responsibility); Puttenahalli Neighbourhood Lake Improvement Trust (Citizens' Group); Y S Pavithra (Social Entrepreneur) and B N Vijaya Kumar (Elected Representative).
The 20-member jury was chaired by Pradeep Kar, chairman of Microland.
