Habitat: Densely populated areas to remote desolate places

Distribution: Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa

Diet: Small mammals like rats, fish, frogs, lizards, household refuse and carrion (dead animals)

Distinguishing features: Dark plumage of black, brown and pale brown sometimes giving a streaked appearance, yellow legs with black claws
