Habitat: Fields and grassy areas, near lakes or rivers, in swamps, or on small inland or coastal islands

Distribution: All over the world except the poles

Diet: Insects especially grasshoppers, crickets, flies, and moths, spiders, frogs and earthworms

Distinguishing features: White body, short yellow bill, pale orange patches in breeding plumage
